DZRRT Code of Ethics

The Danzan Ryu Seifukujitsu Institute (DZRSI)

is a Committee of the American Judo and Jujitsu Federation

The DZRSI administers the Danzan Ryu Restorative Therapy (DZRRT) Programs

As a student and/or graduate of Danzan Ryu Restorative Therapy (DZRRT), I pledge to:

  • Conduct myself in the highest moral and ethical manner and honestly promote the arts and science of DZRRT.
  • Represent my education, affiliations, and other qualifications honestly.
  • Practice my technique within the limitations of my training and will perform only those services for which I am qualified.
  • Educate myself regarding regulations which pertain to my practice.
  • Keep records of what I do, including a health history from those that receive DZRRT.
  • Discuss any problem areas that may contraindicate bodywork.
  • Keep all information, whether medical or personal, strictly confidential within the constraints of law.
  • Respect the rights of other practitioners.
  • Pay strict attention to personal hygiene and appearance and follow commonly accepted hygienic procedures.
  • Provide a respectful and relaxing atmosphere.
  • Provide clean linens and treatment area and maintain privacy by appropriate draping.
  • Maintain clear and honest communications, endeavor to establish and maintain trust in the relationship, and to establish clear boundaries and an atmosphere of safety.
  • Maintain a distinct separation between bodywork and sexual relationships, and require the same distinction from those that receive DZRRT.
  • Respect the feeling of vulnerability during DZRRT, and consider the comfort zone of those that receive DZRRT for touch and degree of pressure, and honor the requests as much as possible within personal and ethical limits.
  • Acknowledge and honor the inherent worth and uniqueness of each person regarding physical, psychological and philosophical attributes.
  • Strive for excellence through regular assessment of my personal strengths and weaknesses.
