The BOP has been focusing on the History and Shinyo no Maki sections of the kata manual. Members of the BOP are working on final comments to these documents.
The BOP is putting is refining a database about the AJJF senior instructors for the purpose of rank promotions for Godan and higher. The same survey that was sent to Senior Instructors last year regarding their accomplishments and qualifications will be sent again this year.
The BOP continues to work on ways to provide Convention hosts with more guidance on what the BOP would like to see at the annual Convention.
The theme of “Integrity” was approved as the theme of the 2020 AJJF Convention. The appropriate Japanese word and kanji are forthcoming from the Convention host.
The BOP will have its first face to face meeting outside of Convention in several years in September of this year.

The BOP is working on scanning its historical documents (including exam records) for better preservation and access.
The BOP is continuing to work with the AJJF Chair of Marketing on materials that can be given to new students explaining the benefits of AJJF registration.
The BOP is actively working on how to distribute information on what kappo are acceptable for Sandan and Yondan exams.
The BOP is working on the final steps to make the AJJF Kata Manual available electronically.
The BOP has received concerns from some school heads about the feasibility of arranging for AJJF registration and background checks for guest instructors. They will be looking at the policy in an upcoming meeting.

Ohana 2020 will be held in Honolulu, Hawaii from July 10-12, 2020. More information can be found on the website: ohana2020.com. The BOP encourages as many AJJF members to attend as possible.
Senior Instructor Travel
The BOP had announced a policy on Senior Instructor travel at the 2019 Convention. They are considering its merits and will be discussing further refinements to the policy at an upcoming meeting.
