Professor James Birmingham
AJJF Professor 1986
James Birmingham was a student at Professor Ray and Marie Law’s American Judo & Jujitsu School in the 1950’s.
He taught classes at the Law’s school in the early 1960’s and in 1962 with (Prof.) Bert Aspinall, opened the Christian Judo Association in Oakland, California.
An Oakland police officer for many years, Jim was also very active in the AJJF during the 1960’s and 70’s.
He held national offices on the Executive Board of the AJJF during this time.
He was titled Professor and received his AJJF Godan in 1986.
