Youth Camp Kodenkan

Black Belt, Adult Kyu, and Kids Camps

Sis-Q Ranch, Fort Jones California

Dear School Heads and Fellow Jujitsuka:

This letter is to officially notify you and your students that Camp Kodenkan north 1999 is officially canceled. We are sorry for any and all inconvenience this has caused. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter. There will be a reunion for those who wish to attend at Prof. Tom and Jan Ball's home from July 7 - July 13. Write, e-mail, or call Robbin Miller, Camp Director for more information.

Youth Camp Kodenkan is for your children

Youth Camp Kodenkan is intended to be a complete vacation and jujitsu experience for your children. We will provide a safe environment where they can experience the best of summer camp fun and the skill, knowledge and self- discipline of the Danzan Ryu Jujitsu system.

Our goal is to instill more self-confidence, self-control, and constructive assertiveness in your child through the knowledge of the martial arts, life within a group of peers, and within the knowledge of oneself.

SIS-Q-RANCH is located in Scott Valley, California, at the base of the magnificent Marble Mountains just south of the California-Oregon border. Professor Tom and Jan Ball are happy to be hosting camp again this year, the 12th Youth Camp.

Suki LaGue, Youth Camp Director, is an AJJF Yodan from Bushidokan in Sparks, Nevada. She has been teaching Danzan Ryu Jujitsu for 13 years and teaching juniors' classes for 11 years. The remaining staff of counselors and instructors are senior jujitsu students or AJJF black belts. Most will have more than two years of camp experience. There will be a 1 to 8 counselor to camper ratio and there will be adult supervision at all times.

Please return your child's application form before June 10, 1999 to reserve a space for him/her. We also request that you inform us of any special needs your child may have (dietary, medical, physical, or emotional) on the application form or on an extra sheet.

We look forward to spending an action-packed week with your children!

Youth Camp Kodenkan is for students in junior jujitsu classes. It is a time when you can live your jujitsu experience for a whole week. The camp will give you a chance to meet new friends, find pen pals, and possibly develop bonds of friendship that you may carry with you throughout your lifetime.

Our goal at Youth Camp is to provide an environment where the safety and self- discipline of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu is intermingled with the fun and creativity of a summer camp experience. The martial arts classes will be based on the basics of Danzan Ryu, as taught by the AJJF, and will be instructed by either senior students or AJJF black belts. All of the classes will be of 45 minute length and there will be ample time for rest between classes. The safety record for jujitsu work-outs at Youth Camp is exceptional.

Please send a completed application and a $50 deposit to the address below. All applications received after June 10 will be assessed a $20 late charge and may not receive a tee shirt.
