AJJF BOP Welcomes Three New Professors


Professor Larry Nolte - Rokudan

Professor Nolte began training in 1958 with Professor Tom Ball. In 1960, he was awarded his Shodan by Professor Bud Estes and Professor Tom Ball (Larry was Professor Ball's first student to reach Shodan). He became sensei of the two-year-old Medford Judo Academy in 1962 (see article on Medford's 40th Anniversary). Over 40 students have been promoted to Shodan or higher from the Medford Judo Academy

Professor Geoff Lane - Rokudan

Professor Lane has been studying jujitsu under Senior Professor Lamar Fisher since 1977 at the Nibukikian in Chico, California, where Professor Lane now runs classes. Professor Lane also trained for five years in wrestling, along with competing in swimming and water polo. Professor Lane is the namesake of the "Geoff Cup" - a challenge cup institututed by his competititors who for years were unable to best him in any tournament he entered.

Professor Dennis Estes - Rokudan

Professor D. Estes has practiced jujitsu since 1959 when he began training with SEnsei James Moynahan. His father, ARt Estes, then became his sensei until the early 1980's when Professor Hudson undertook those duties. Professor D. Estes has estensive training and experience as a police and women's self-defense instructor. He is currently the head of the JoBu Shin Kan Martial Arts School in Eureka, California.
