AJJF Committees
Description
The Board of Professors (BOP) and the Operations Committee (OC)
may created committees to further the goals of the AJJF at any time.
Further Information
The following committees have been appointed by the Board of Professors or the Operations Committee.
Each committee should have a chair to coordinate the activities of the Committee. The chair may be appointed by the BOP, the OC or a specific manager.
- Archivist: Responsible for finding, procuring and sorting the historical artifacts of the AJJF. Artifacts to include photographs, plaques, historical articles, and any objects that have historical significance. The committee should write articles about interesting topics in the Kiai Echo.
- Bert Aspinall Award: Responsible for choosing the outstanding member of the AJJF each year. The award is to be presented at each convention. Committee members are appointed by the Board of Professors. The Committee Chair is the AJJF Treasurer.
- Historian: Responsible for researching the history of the AJJF and reporting that history in Kiai Echo articles.
- Massage Standards Committee: Responsible for the administration and instruction of the AJJF massage program. Members are appointed by the Board of Professors.
- Okazaki Scholarship: Responsible for choosing recipients of the Okazaki Scholarship. Members are appointed by the Operations Committee.
- School Biography: Responsible for writing articles about each of the schools in the AJJF and publishing the articles in the Kiai Echo. The intent is to preserve a history of the instructors and schools of the AJJF for future generations of the AJJF.
- Video Archivist: Responsible for recording senior instructors
on video tape. The intent is to preserve the personal style and techniques
of these instructors for future generations of AJJF instructors.
- Contest Rules and Judging:
A committee appointed by the AJJF Manager of Clinics and Contests;
the committee is responsible
for working with the AJJF Manager of Clinics and Contest to:
- Arbitrate and enforce rule infractions by schools and individuals.
- Make recommendations to the Board of Professors of any proposed rule changes.
- Develop and implement a clinic program for the certification of Contest Judges.
- Organize and administer the AJJF National Tournament held at the Annual AJJF Convention.
- Athletic Taping Coordinator: Facilitating and overseeing instruction
of the AJJF Taping Course.
