| How
We Teach
Play is the work of children: they
learn best by experimenting and creating their own activities. We play
games, follow the kids interests, and engage their imaginations, to help
them learn and grow. This style of JuJitsu has always been taught through
cooperative learning. If you re good at something, you refine your own
skill by teaching it to someone who is still learning, and you learn at
your own pace from those more skilled than you, under the instructor s
watchful eye. Everyone is a teacher, everyone is a student, and everyone
is always learning.
As we strive to improve our technique and character, we view mistakes not as faults, but as opportunities to learn more about our arts and ourselves. Achieving difficult goals and exceeding your own expectations are the best paths to true self-esteem. Students learn best when they are treated with kokua: kindness, caring, and respect. In turn, they learn to treat others the same way. |
