Can friends and family watch the clinics?

Yes, all clinics below Black Belt are open to visitors.

Can I video the clinic?

This is up to each individual instructor. Please ask permission before the clinic.

What is appropriate attire at the banquet?

Generally, people dress as nicely as they are able to. Some wear formal clothes such as a tux or evening gown, many wear a sport coat or long dress, and some wear their good jeans.

If I don't attend the banquet, can I still attend the awards ceremonies?

Yes, the doors will be opened after the dinner has been completed. An approximate schedule will be posted.

Is there vegetarian food at the banquet?

Yes there is.

Do I have to get a full AJJF membership in order to attend?

No, there is a short term membership available for $6.

Are martial artists from other systems welcome to attend?

Yes, we encourage any martial artist who is interested in Danzan-Ryu Jujitsu to join us. We also have a number of instructors from other systems who will show us some of their system.

Can I go to classes outside of my rank?

Yes, with instructor's permission you can.

What are the rules for the Jujitsu Freestyle contest?

We will be using the standard AJJF rules.

What are the rules for the Jujitsu Kata contest?

We will be using the standard AJJF rules.

What are the rules for the Jujitsu Demonstration Team contest?

We will be using the standard AJJF rules.

Will there be a Shinyo class and if so, will Nidans be allowed to attend?

Yes, there will be a Shinyo class scheduled and it will be Nidan and above with the instructor's and sensei's permission. Look at the Convention Schedule for day and time (to be posted in March).

Will the class schedule have more description about the classes?

Yes, as the instructors decide on their class content, more description will be added.
