AJJF 49th Annual National Convention

AJJF Region II is proud to announce that we are hosting the 1997 AJJF Convention! Since the inception of the AJJF, the National Convention has never been held outside of Region I! How's that for a first!? To help and to ensure your attendance at this year's event we are offering several important features:

• A 5% to 10% DISCOUNT on top of whatever low rates are currently being offered by the airlines ON ALL FLIGHTS leaving from all major cities! To obtain this additional discount, we've retained a travel agency, Travel Visions, to make all of your travel arrangement for you at the best prices possible. Just call Travel Visions at 1-800-959-2928 and tell them you want to come to the AJJF Convention in April and they will book your flight arrangements. We've arranged this to help you afford this Convention even better than in previous years!
• We have a SET ROOM RATE at the hotel (rates do differ according to the poshness of the room) whether you put one, two, three, or even six people in a single room! What a great way to save money! And regardless how you work out the details of who is staying where, the Red Lion is offering you a great room rate for Convention! • Convention '97 is being held at the Red Lion Inn/Orange County Airport (John Wayne Airport). There is a FREE SHUTTLE from the AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL. The hotel floor plan is perfect for a JuJitsu Convention with easy access from your hotel room to work-out areas, restaurants, a gym, and two pools! The hotel has several in-house restaurants and there are many other restaurants and fast-food eateries in the immediate area. Map of the Red Lion Inn area.
• CONVENTION FEE will be the SAME AS LAST YEAR! See registration form, ( GIF file, v87 ) or ( PostScript document ), for itemized fees. We're holding the line at last year's fee to help you keep your costs down.
• We will be providing FREE shuttle service to Disneyland! If you and your family wish to go to the Park, we've arranged for drop-off and pick-up!
• We will have a NEW KIND OF MAT for you to try! Joe Donaldson of Boosters Plus is providing us with over 1700 square feet of a new type of mat on a promotional basis! At the end of Convention, it will be for sale!! Try it out and let us know what you think!
• The AJJF National Championships Freestyle Competition will be held again this year!
• Planned INSTRUCTORS include the AJJF Professors and other teachers of Danzan-Ryu Plus special Guest Instructors of other martial arts. As many of these other instructors will be from the Southern California area, it will be their first time at an AJJF Convention and your first chance to see them! Therefore along with the standard Lists of techniques, we will try to enhance your training dimensions with other excellent Instructors and ideas!
• Further materials and information (schedule of events, confirmed instructors, a map of things to do in the area, places to eat, etc.) will be sent to you as confirmation of your pre-registration.

• Our THEME this year is SHIBUMI which means EFFORTLESS PERFECTION. We have decided on this theme as an extrapolation of the concept of the Perfection of Character in the Esoteric Principles wherein SHIBUMI refers to Perfection of Character as not just an End but as a State of Being.
