AJJF Events Calendar

Camp Kodenkan Midwest is the Danzan Ryu camp founded in Chicago 27 years ago by the late Prof. Pat Browne. The theme of this year's camp is Munashii, the void.

• Open mat, Friday, 3 - 6 pm.
• Friday: 6 - 9 pm. Refreshments provided. Dinner on your own.
• Saturday: 9 am to noon; 1:30 pm to 6 pm. Lunch on your own.
• Potluck Sat. night at Dan Browning's house. Meat/beer/soda provided.
• Sunday: Black belts: 9 - 11 am; Kyus: 11:15 am - 3:30 pm; Kids 4 -5 pm.
• Cost: Weekend w/t-shirt $95. Sat. only $65. Not coming: Not getting.

We will again be hosting the convention at the Windy Peak Outdoor Laboratory School. Take your Jujitsu to the next level with small intimate classes taught by AJJF professors and senior instructors. Friends and family are also welcome to attend and relax in the scenic mountain environment.

Kodenkan Academy of Martial Arts is hosting a Women’s Self Defense Clinic with Instructor, Monica Villanueva and Assistant Instructor, Richard Kingery.

The focus of the clinic is to promote awareness of self defense applications through jujitsu and martial arts applications.

COST: $50 pre-payment/$60 on-site (but must email first to hold space)

Bring your own bag lunch as we will have working lunch session. Also bring your massage table if you have one. We will have a social gathering to follow the class -- everyone is welcome!

Open to AJJF/DZRSI Massage Graduates Only AJJF Membership Required to Participate.

• Martial arts practice combined with summer camp fun in the high mountains near the Oregon border.
• Training is scheduled for the mornings and evenings with quieter activities such as Skit practice, Kanji lessons, Archery, etc. offered in the afternoons.
• Swimming is offered every afternoon and every camper is skill tested and paired with a “Swim Buddy”. Safety is always stressed.
• Prof Tom Ball is the second highest ranking member of the AJJF. He and his wife, Jan, have hosted KDK camps since 1975 and are both teachers with 30 years experience.
• Instructors are AJJF black belts with previous experience in instruction and children's’ camps. Counselors are senior ranked students approved by their sensei.
• Campers must be AJJF members who are aged 8 to 17 and have had four months of Jujitsu training. A solid foundation of how to roll and fall insures full participation.
